Unlock your creativity, empower artistic expression and enhance your wellness journey.
At Unique Soapstone Experiences, we believe that creativity transcends mere outcomes – it’s not solely about the destination, but rather the transformation that occurs along the way. It’s about discovering who you are through the artistic voyage.
Our programs exist to empower creativity and foster wellness through mindfulness using the very dynamic medium of soapstone. Designed for a wide variety of age groups, it is a profound experience for us to watch the young and old quietly build self-acceptance through unconditional creativity.
Our soapstone carving programs aren’t just about art; they’re about nurturing resilient minds. Parents see their children blossom – focused, patient, and attuned. Schools recognize soapstone as a vessel for mindfulness education, a quiet rebellion against the chaos of screen and schedules.
Introduce students to the art of soapstone carving through hands-on, engaging workshops that foster creativity, fine motor skills, and personal expression in a safe, dust-free environment.
Engage in hands-on soapstone carving experiences tailored for all ages and skill levels, fostering creativity, mindfulness, and personal expression in an inclusive and inspiring environment.
Leave Your Can’t at the Door is more than a tagline—it’s a movement that challenges individuals to redefine their limitations and embrace relentless growth. It’s a call to action for those who feel stuck, unsure, or trapped by their own self-doubt. This initiative is designed to help people step beyond the mental barriers that hold them back, inviting them to experience personal transformation through mindset shifts, creative action, and experiential learning.
Unlike The Creative Core, which serves as a structured methodology for engaging creativity as a tool for transformation, Leave Your Can’t at the Door is the rallying cry that invites people into that journey. It is the spark that ignites the process, urging individuals to challenge the internal narratives that keep them from exploring their full potential.
This movement doesn’t promise instant transformation, but it offers the tools, mindset, and support to help people push past resistance and step into their own potential.
This movement is about choice—choosing to challenge the narratives that say “you can’t.” It’s about taking the first step, regardless of fear or doubt, and proving to yourself that growth is always possible. Whether it’s stepping into creativity, entrepreneurship, personal development, or leadership, Leave Your Can’t at the Door is the invitation to stop waiting and start becoming.
As it continues to gain traction, Leave Your Can’t at the Door will remain a call to action, while developing the foundation for a future framework that offers deeper, structured transformation.

A seasoned creator, guide, storyteller and sculptor of many years, Michael doesn’t just carve stone, he carves moments of tranquility. His hands, weathered by years of shaping soapstone, harbour secrets whispered by the ancient rocks themselves. When you step into his workshop, you’re not merely learning to carve, you’re embarking on a serene journey.
“Life is like soapstone – soft, malleable, and full of surprises. So, grab a rasp, embrace the imperfections, and sculpt your joy. And remember, when in doubt, meditate. Or eat chocolate. Both work.”
Because it is composed primarily of talc it is usually very soft 1-2 on the mohs scale. Soapstone is typically gray, bluish, green, or brown in color but it can also be found in black, white, and red. It is often variegated which means it can have irregular patches or streaks of colour or harder and softer stone. These variegation zones can also be weak points in the stone, susceptible to fracture. Its name is derived from its “soapy” feel and softness. It has a high fusion point, low electrical and thermal conductivity, superior heat retention and high lubricating power. It is chemically inert.
Miners and drillers use the name for any soft rock that is soapy or slippery to the touch. Many people use the name Steatite interchangeably with “soapstone.” However, some people reserve the name Steatite for a fine-grained unfoliated soapstone that is nearly 100% talc and highly suited for carving.
